Hillside's Garbage Disposal Pro Tips: a garbage disposal is NOT a trash can. Though a powerful and dangerous appliance, every disposal unit has its limitations. ALWAYS run cold water when in use, and NEVER use drain cleaning chemicals to clear a clog. Chemical cleaners will not work, and they'll leave you with a sink full of chemicals.

Thanks for helping me understand that the drain cleaning chemicals must not be used for garbage disposal. I guess that is what caused the damage to my garbage disposal because it got clogged last night. So I thought I could get rid of the issue with the cleaning liquid we have at home. Now, I need a professional to repair it to use it again.

I love that you're calling people out for overusing their garbage disposal. My brother has been complaining about his house drains not draining fast enough, and it might be because too much that shouldn't have, has gone down them. We'll have to look into hiring a professional to help him clean and repair the drains so they can work again.
